catsmo is Committed to Food Safety & providing Sustainability & responsibly raised salmon

Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse acquired Level 2 SQF certification in 2015 and is taking steps toward acquiring Level 3 certification. SQF certification assures buyers and customers that food has been produced, processed and handled according to the highest standards.
SQF is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require a rigorous, credible food safety management system.

In addition, Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse is able to provide our customers with ASC-certified and BAC-certified salmon. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent non-profit and labeling organization that establishes protocol on farmed seafood while ensuring sustainable aquaculture. The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) is a seafood-specific certification program that addresses the four key areas of responsible seafood: environmental; social; food safety; as well as animal health and welfare at each step of the aquaculture production chain.

Sustainable and healthy approaches to feeding the world's growing population are more critical now than ever before. As wild fisheries have reached their harvest capacity, aquaculture, or fish farming, is needed so that future generations can enjoy the seafood we do today.
